Kangaroos
Lizzy and Robert's Story
Lizzy was found alongside her dead mum who was hit by a car during the night. Lizzy was just starting to get fur from her pinky state, she was approximately 3 months old. The Mandurah wildlife rescue service reared her for 6 months until they were placed in the zoo. Robert's mum was also struck by a car and was 3.5 months old. He had a broken leg and had his leg set by a vet. He had a cast on his leg for 8 weeks. He is also 9 months old. Both Kangaroos will need to stay in Peel Zoo until they get older, when they will be released.
Ferrets
These were bought from an animal carer who had run out of room and they needed to find a home. They now call Peel Zoo home. Deer
Prancer and Bambi's Story
They were getting too big for a mobile animal education programme and needed a home - They now call Peel Zoo home.
Rabbits
Sox's Story
She was given to the Peel Zoo by a family who could no longer take care of it. They now call Peel Zoo home.
Goats
Mocha's Story
She was first seen running out on the main road and we agreed to let her stay with the Zoo. She now calls Peel Zoo home.
"Foxy"
Her mother was killed by a semi-trailer and has been reared from a few weeks old. She thinks she's a dog and chase the Peel Zoo mascot dog is her brother.
Chase The Peel Zoo Mascot Dog
Chase came from an animal carer who no longer had enough space to keep him. He looks deep into your eyes and you can't help but want to take him home. He gets into trouble all over the zoo especially with foxy who thinks he is his brother. Chase Is always talking to the many residents of Peel Zoo. His ability to communicate in Ferretese is remarkable. Can you guess what he is saying?
