| Walk through Aviaries |
|
One of the elements of the zoo that Tony and Narelle are most proud of are the massive walkthrough aviaries. Most of the birds are tame, having been rescued or donated to the Zoo. The Peel Zoo allows you to see every native Western Australian bird up close and in natural environs. The birds are fed fresh fruit and seeds daily. Tony or one of his experienced staff can guide you through the walk through aviaries, pointing out the different birds and their features. The birds may actually come and land on your shoulder and some may even say hello.
The Peel Zoo also has a successful breeding program for owls, although you wouldn't want to go in the owl habitat as they can be very territorial.
Peel Zoo is a bird lover's paradise, and such a beautiful habitat for the birds themselves, that many wild birds are regular visitors. |
